IPD has completed dozens of projects at this hospital and other buildings on campus, which include renovations to Medical Surgery Suite, Patient Wards, Intensive Care Unit, Morgue and Autopsy Suite. IPD has also provided engineering services including renovations to the Administrative Building, renovations to numerous Outpatient Clinics including Primary Care and Prosthetics.

Other projects include renovations to the Long Term Care Suite and the addition of a new Women’s Health Clinic. IPD provided a phased design to replaced sprinkler systems and main domestic valves, replacement of various steam-water heat exchangers, as well as the replacement of several central station air handling units, and designed a clean steam humidification system and replaced steam to- hot water heat exchangers throughout the facility.

From 2010-12, IPD led an Energy Conservation Measures Project which helped the 750,000 SF Syracuse VA Medical Center where the goal of the design was to help the hospital meet their ever increasing energy efficiency goals by the end of 2012. The design included removing the source for building heating and reheat systems from the steam plant, drastically reducing the steam boilers and system. This initiative saved the facility in excess of 20% in energy costs in the first year of operation.
