IPD’s engineering team has done several different projects for this community center throughout the years. This community recreation center features two ice rinks, four swimming pools, a gymnasium with workout areas, locker rooms, a concession area and a skate rental shop. The YMCA’s indoor swimming center features multiple pools – a 25-yard/8 lane pool, a zero-entry pool, a spa, a water slide and a plunge pool as well as a Waterworks playground.

Recently, IPD provided MEP and Structural Engineering services for an expansion that brought a new NHL-sized ice rink with an 800-person seating capacity. It was built on a sand base in order to be a functional ice rink year-round. The rink is home to Skaneateles Youth Hockey. As a result of the expansion, the original rink, which was built on concrete, is utilized as an ice rink during the winter months and thawed during the warmer months to provide the center with additional space for summer programs.
