The Plumbing Engineer serves as the lead plumbing engineer on projects from concept through construction administration. The role involves developing plumbing designs and construction documents, coordinating design tasks with junior engineers when appropriate, and supporting projects through construction. The Plumbing Engineer also reviews shop drawings, responds to RFIs, and works directly with contractors in the field to address construction issues and support successful project execution.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings.
  • Design plumbing systems for construction drawings that include plumbing floor plans, riser diagrams, details, schedules, and sections.
  • Performs plumbing related calculations.
  • Selects plumbing equipment.
  • Coordinates with other engineering and architectural trades during design
  • Develops construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Participates in developing project details, equipment schedules, and specifications.
  • Contributes to sustainable design discussions and implements sustainable strategies as appropriate to the project scope.
  • Administers construction administration for plumbing scope items, including conformance to contract documents and solves problems
  • Responds to project questions and concerns in a timely and thorough manner. 
  • Research and assess applicable project codes and other regulations. Conduct other important engineering research as necessary.
 

Position Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Plumbing Design Certification.  
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm. 
  • Well-versed in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office 
 

Pay Range:

$80,000 – $150,000
