Mohawk Valley Health System – New Campus
The Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is designing a new integrated healthcare campus in the City of Utica. The final result will be a 25-acre modern medical complex consisting of a brand new 373-bed hospital, a standalone medical office building, a 1,550-car parking structure with five parking lots, and an energy center that will provide power for the new healthcare campus.
IPD is designing the state-of-the-art energy center which will provide power for the entire campus. Housed within an existing building, the energy facility will include a high-efficiency hot water boiler plant, a steam boiler system, a chilled water plant, and numerous emergency generators and power systems.
IPD is coordinating efforts for the energy center with prime engineer SSR and the project architect. IPD is also providing peer review to SSR for work on the main hospital, and will provide on-site services for the duration of construction.
Initial planning for this project began in 2014 with approvals and design currently in progress. Construction is scheduled to kick-off in 2019 with full completion projected for 2022.
